Questions People Ask
Do I need approval to cut down a tree in Singapore?
Some trees do, and it is checked before any work is agreed. At the site visit we confirm where the tree is and whether it sits in a Tree Conservation Area. Where NParks approvals or permits are needed, we obtain them before the works are carried out, so you do not have to file anything yourself. We are an NParks approved contractor. Send us a photo and tell us where the tree is.
How much does tree cutting cost?
There is no flat rate, and every site is assessed before we quote. Six things move the price. How accessible the tree is, its size and height, the type and scope of the work, how complex it is and what equipment that calls for, and the documentation and administration the job needs. A small prune and a full removal beside a building are very different jobs. Send us a photo and we will price it for you. The quotation is free and you are not committed to anything.
Will you come out for just one tree?
Yes. Even a single tree is welcome. A lot of people assume a landscape company only wants big contracts. We do one-off tree jobs for homes all the time.
What happens to the branches and the waste?
We cart it all away. Cutting is only half the job. We clear the site, take the waste with us, and leave the place tidy.
Does my tree actually need to come down?
Not always. We will tell you if it does not. Plenty of trees that look dangerous only need cutting back. Our ISA-certified arborists assess the tree properly and advise honestly. We do not push work you do not need.
Can you work on condominiums and MCST sites?
Yes. An MCST is the management council that runs a condominium. We work for them regularly. We are bizSAFE Level 3 certified and an approved contractor with NParks. Those are the certifications commercial and MCST contracts usually ask for. We also work for developers, private schools and commercial buildings as well as private homes.
Can you do crown reduction on a big tree right next to a house or condo?
Yes. Crown reduction makes the whole crown smaller by shortening the branches, and it is the usual answer when a large tree has grown too close to a building. Condominiums, landed homes and commercial buildings are the sites we mainly work on. A big tree beside a building often needs a crane lorry, and we send you the risk assessment and method statement before anyone starts. We cut to the scope you agreed. How do you keep the site safe while you work?
Four things happen before a chainsaw starts. We prepare and submit the risk assessment and the other safety documents. We run a toolbox meeting and a safety briefing with the crew on the job. Our tools, machinery and equipment are inspected regularly so nothing goes up a tree in poor condition. And we put site protection in place around the work, because the people we have to keep safe are not only the crew. They are whoever walks past and whatever is parked underneath.
A tree has come down after a storm. What do I do?
